pretty sure *markdown works* but you can't do a lot of fancy stuff:

(there was a script tag in there)

i think i want to actually disable markdown (and images and links) and maybe just turn two line breaks into a paragraph break and auto-link a URL that is on a line by itself as a spam prevention measure

and blockquotes

but i don't wanna!

since posting that 14 hours ago i reworked the post body generation so it's a lot more restrictive. blockquotes still work.
